Short history. At the end of the century XVII the noble family Boiardi possessed in Villa San Nicolò a vast possession denominating "Benvignante". There stood a noble Oratory, where in 1727 Card. Ruffo arranged for parish rites to be performed for that community. The Archbishop Mgr. Bovelli, adhering to the petition of the inhabitants of the small town, raised in the current Parish Church by decree of October 7, 1950, civilly recognized by President Einaudi of the Republic on October 16, 1952.
