A "place" that was a "home" for my ancestors. A deep bond for me. The dialect of the many relatives, the paths. The cantons that have a name that expresses an ancient meaning and deeply connected with places and people. I love Banzolo

Ancient oratory dedicated to San rocco. Unfortunately closed, but just ask and the keys are found. Very simple both inside and out, but full of devotion. Classic mountain oratory where beauty is to be sought not in decorations and trappings but in one's faith. Also very characteristic is the small square with fountain and wash house, and the whole village around.

One of the few speakers in the area. Very beautiful!

The oratory of Banzolo, devoted to San Rocco di Montpellier, is a real architectural jewel, preserving so much history of this valley, the Val Lavaiana, set in the upper Val Nure. Built in the first half of the seventeenth century, the oratory of Banzolo is located along the Via degli Abati which crosses the length and breadth of the Parish of Groppallo on which this sacello depends. It can certainly be visited on August 16th in conjunction with the village festival where the residents adorn the temple, with flowers and garlands, which is home to a few dozen people. Of great traditional value, as well as religious, is also the procession through the streets of the village made at the end of the Celebration.
