Pieve di Paullo

Small jewel hidden in the hills on the Reggio Apennines. The first traces date back to 800 AD. C. It was owned by the father of Matilde di Canossa who was an unforgettable lady of these places. The Romanesque parish church arouses respect and sobriety, however the stones of the colonnade, of which we can still admire the capitals, finely carved, give those who observe them a sense of strength and solidity. The ceiling rebuilt with beams from the 1600s ... completes the truly impressive interiors in their simplicity. We love Italy. 🇮🇹

After a long walk between climbs and descents (a bit like in life in short!) We arrived at the entrance of this ancient church. There is an air of peace, serenity, of recollection. The church, inside, is neat, clean, far from the city but certainly frequented by an active community. In short, a welcoming place, just as a Church must (should) be.
