Pieve di San Donato

Unique place with its history (Dante and Carducci) and its architecture. Personally dear to me because in his rectory in 27, my Mother was born as the grandson of the then Archpriest who hosted both her and her brothers. Still in the Pieve she married my Dad and then repeated the exit for the 50th anniversary of marriage.

Wonderful place for meditation, famous for Carducci's poetry (which I don't love ...) and the story of Paolo and Francesca, narrated by Dante. Francesca, of the lords of Polenta, was given in marriage to Gianciotto Malatesta but she betrayed him with his brother Paolo, being killed for this together with her lover ... So much history, in short, in a place of great quiet and beautiful landscape.

Enchanting place among the cypresses. You have to reach it but the road is very beautiful. It's worth it.

Beautiful Pieve, in a simple context, wonderful panorama of the Romagna Apennines. Road lined with cypresses. In summer there are free musical events, bookable on ticketsms
