Area camper kartodromo Matera

We have been traveling together with a larger group for half a year. We hadn't planned Matera at all and so we were surprised several times. A beautiful city and a great host made this stay perfect. Gian Franco the operator of the campsite is such a fun, helpful, loving and human person. actually we only wanted to stay 2 nights but the package offered caused us to stay for almost two weeks. All in all, it was probably one of the absolute highlights of the whole trip. So much wonderful history lives here and there is probably no one better who can tell you that like Gian Franco. The place on the old racetrack was really something very special, always clean, always hot water and always a Gian Franco who was at your side with advice, action and wit. All thumbs up for a fantastic time we had there. Be warned Gian-Franco we'll be back soon 😜

Nice Campground. Very close to Matera with interesting ruins and a spectacular canyon to explore right across the street. Our host was the best you could wish for. Jon Franco was always there to help, he gave us all the information we could take in about the area and city, and was always quick with a joke. Very nice time. From the planned stopover for a night or two, we wound up staying over a week. Highly recommended!!

A lovely place to stay ! The 2 brothers who own the place are super kind. There is a shuttle to bring over Matera center (the camping is about 5min away from the center)

Been there for a day only. The host is very kind and gives you plenty of advices for visiting Matera. He deeply suggested us to choose a local guide called Francesco. Very positive choice, for 18€ for each adult, 2 hours in the morning.

Super nice place, very clean bathroom, like at home. The owner - as everyone says - is the best guide you can wish for. Shuttle service well organized all day long. Recommended!
