The current church is what remains of a Benedictine abbey, one of the oldest and most powerful in the Vallesina. Several excavations have identified three churches that have succeeded each other over time: the first in the early medieval period, the second in the 12th century and the third in the following century. Unfortunately, of all these buildings only a few artifacts remain, barely legible, due to profound changes made in the construction starting from the 18th century. Recent excavations have made it possible to free the foundations of the original building (visible) and to bring to light a splendid sarcophagus which represents the oldest evidence of Christian sculpture in the Vallesina. During some restoration work, a fragment of a fresco leaning against the octagonal pillar of the presbytery also emerged, depicting an angel's head referable to the 12th century.

In addition to being a piece of history, it is also a beautiful church. As soon as you enter you see the story that in the past. The basements can also be visited. It also has a good place to play football thanks to the football gates. There is also a basketball hoop. It can also accommodate a large group. There is also a kitchen that can be used with authorization. There is an inaccessible theater. Recommended for celebrating birthdays and various holidays !!!

The oldest church in Jesi. In reality it is an abbey, once with three naves, today only one remains, the power plant. Interesting to visit the underground areas.
