I have had a very bad experience this year, being my second in a row. In comparison to last year, it was a complete mess and an utter disaster when I booked the Academia scherma di marché, Jesi.
When I first arrived, it seemed as though the entire event was planned only a few days ago because of the following:
1. There were half as many tutors as last year (3 tutors total for this year).
2. There were constant long waits for the bus that takes you to and from the fencing hall and this is because on the first day there was only one bus for a very large quantity of people and there were more buses arriving throughout the week which shows poor planning. Three or four days later, there were up to 3 buses in action.
In addition, the awful experience was reinforced with more events that made the week worse:
1. The organiser, Danielé, was extremely rude and inconsiderate- he spoke to individuals in a raised voice and in a rude manner.
2. One of the athletes that was meant to be at the camp was absent and this was told to us last minute which is unacceptable. (The athlete is Valerio Aspromonte).
3. A similarity between my two years with Esitur is that the Fencing Academy was all about publicity! While fencing and training, you are constantly bothered by photographers as well as the occasional cameraman for sky sports trying to record parts of the events. Furthermore, Esitur has cut fencing and training short for group photos on several occasions.
4. There were a total of 4 fencers fencing epee compared to a staggering 80 foilists. Also, this is definitely not the place for sabre as there are never any people fencing sabre.
5. The tutors are extremely disrespectful to parents who actually are PAYING THE WAGES OF THE TUTORS!!! One tutor would not let the parent get on the bus without the child when he was sick. The bus actually left without the parent. This is simply unacceptable and unprofessional.
6. The camp limits you to only 3 private lessons which is not nearly enough. There are many, many people who believe that this is an outrageous rule, particularly for the adults who are fencing in the camp.
In conclusion, I believe that Esitur has managed to lose all of their fencing clients in just one week due to their lack of organisation and their unprofessionalism.
This is definitely the last year of Academia di Scherma for me and I am sure that I am not the only person with this view.
3-day trip to the Amalfi Coast, all organized in detail, courtesy, friendliness and professionalism, once you get on the bus you don't have to think about anything. The driver Loris, the very nice escort Laura, the very kind local guide Corrado who explains in detail by providing precious earphones that allow you to listen to him without the need to pile on each other are good and helpful. Good dining and accommodation facilities. X a holiday concentrated on 3 days with transfers between buses, minibuses and ferries and more places to visit all excellent, including timetables (not "exhausting"). To reschedule other trips, very reliable, good quality of the trip / price.
I tried to call several times, waiting even more than 20 minutes and nothing ..
I do not understand why booking a week in Val di Fassa with this agency, we were paired with a parish holiday Moie.
Following were five people including tour guides and relatives.
Hotel described with three stars, which was barely worth one; what about the guides? Poor professionalism in the exhibition of places and territory. Not to be advised.
Bad service
