Istituto Piemontese Per La Storia Della Resistenza E Della Societa
Reviews
Giorgio Ricciotti (11/11/2019)
It was born as a project in the immediate post-war period, at the instigation of the President of the Piedmontese National Liberation Committee Franco Antonicelli and Alessandro Galante Garrone, who later in 1947 would have given life to the Association for the history of the Resistance in Piedmont and, shortly after, at the Historical Institute of the Resistance in Piedmont. Since 1995 the Institute has assumed its current name, in consideration of the archival, scientific and didactic activity, which extends throughout the 20th century. In 2004 the Institute was named after Giorgio Agosti, its former president from 1974 to 1992. From 2015 Istoreto is a partner of the Polo of the '900.

The review refers only to the experience of the reading room / study room of the Institute, where I have been several times due to the chronic lack of space in the other study room of the Polo del Novecento. The room is spacious and bright, but not at all suitable for a quiet study. Continuous rings of a very annoying telephone ringtone, the intercom, secretaries answering the phone, loud dialogues between workers and visitors to the limit of disrespect for the frequenters make the individual study impractical (unless you have a considerable of self-isolation).
