It's a beautiful church located in this small town. The interiors of this church is as beautiful as the exteriors. You can go to the basement of the church where you can find ancient paintings of Jesus on the walls.
This Church in the middle of the little village of Castelbuono in an absolute beauty
It is one of the pearls of Castelbuono. It is home to a fifteenth-century polyptych, superior to those of Tuscany, as well as a crypt under the High Altar, with wonderful sixteenth-century frescoes. Very central church, overlooking Piazza Margherita ('a chiazza nnintra'). The unprepared tourist is struck by such beauty ...
Beautiful and unique ... A real gem ... Do not miss a visit to the crypt.
The only drawback is the organization ... We waited over 3 hours, no one was able to indicate the opening hours and there was not even an indicative sign with the times
It is worth a visit for the importance of the Crypt.
Built in the 14th century on a pagan temple.
It has a Renaissance portico, a splendid Baroque portal and an octagonal spire covered with majolica.
Above the high altar a polyptych depicting the coronation of the Virgin.
Curious detail: a saint is depicted wearing glasses ...!
The frescoes in the crypt below are wonderful and well preserved
