Church of Saints Vincent and Anastasius

Brief history. DATE: Founded in the tenth century; Built in the fifteenth century. Pieri and Tiraboschi claim that the toponym of Monestirolo comes from the Latin word «Monasteriolum», that is a small monastery, a retreat of monks: in the XI century there was a community of Benedictines and the church of SS. Vincenzo and Anastasio remained dependent on the Ferrarese monastery of S. Bartolo until the second century. XV. A church was already present in the sec. XIII, but the current parish church dates back to 1411 and was later restored. The Malagù points out that now it presents a pleasant eighteenth-century tone against the solemn avenue of evergreens.
