The presence of the parish church in Carpaneto is already known around the year one thousand from ancient Longobard parchments which talk about the church of San Fermo and which are kept in the archives of the Cathedral of Piacenza. From the fifteenth century, this period dates back to some of the frescoes still preserved inside, while others, particularly those of the chapel of the Madonna del Rosario, belong to the 18th century. Between 1911 and 1913 the new bell tower was built next to the facade of the church and equipped with a bell concert of five bells, in F major; the old bell tower was not demolished, but used as a sacristy. In 1950 it was necessary to lengthen the temple with an arcade with the reconstruction of the façade to form a single body with the new tower. Finally, further modifications and restorations were carried out every ten years starting from the 1950s. . . .
