Pieve di San Giorgio

A place full of mysticism accompanied by a rather unique Antalamic architecture, a beautiful experience to enter. I enclose some historical information: Romanesque church of the twelfth century has three naves divided by four pairs of mighty round pillars with capitals sculpted with figures. It has undergone Renaissance and Baroque alterations, but thanks to the restoration of 1963, today it presents itself with its original, austere and imposing appearance. The façade is embellished with a carved portal with columns with leafy capitals and a sculpture depicting St. George in the lunette. Few traces of frescoes, San Giorgio in the 15th century apse and San Benedetto on a pillar, dated 19 July 1427. The quadrangular bell tower is surmounted by mullioned windows.

Romanesque church of the XII century, well preserved. Inside I have always found it very dark, but there are very interesting frescoes and the whole atmosphere is very suggestive.
