Parrocchia di Fanano

A really nice church in the heart of the Apennines. This place won't have all the Renaissance frescoes you're looking for, but you'll find a majestic stone building which will impress you. So why five stars? Well, come in the winter and you'll find, behind a door to the right on the outside façade, a life-sized model of the Nativity scene. Highly recommended!

Church with internal architecture with some infrequent peculiarities such as: the central nave sometimes square and, more generally, the remarkable lack of brightness that makes the atmosphere full of mystery, a sense of fear. The side chapels, not very visible in their architectural and religious details, in the furnishings and decorations, are numerous and even darker. The general conservation status seems to be quite precarious and in need of treatment. Above the central altar, a crucifix of considerable size, immanent, stands out from its position hanging from the top of the apse. The place certainly cannot be said to be opulent and gilded as can be seen in many other realities of the same nature. If you are on the spot, worth a visit.

Perfect place for a day out of town, very beautiful church near the central square of this village.
