Located in the central square and on the main street that crosses Cascia. The church of San Francesco di Cascia was built in 1424, on the remains of a church from 1200. The facade is characterized by a large door surmounted by a fresco of the fifteenth century and a rose window. Inside we find 18th-century decorations and stuccoes, a 14th-century wooden choir and numerous paintings, including an Ascension by Niccolò Pomarancio. The works, begun in 1339, ended in 1424. The prominent element of the façade, the work of Comacine masters, is the aerial rose window, marked by 18 trefoil arches and 18 columns that radiate from the central quadrilobe, in which Mary appears in glory with the Child the portal opens like a conch, with four small columns on each side that support the pointed arch. The interior of the church is a Latin cross, with a trussed roof to replace the cross vaults damaged by the earthquake of 1703
