Not very large church in the center of the village. Cozy.
The current church was built in 1747 and consecrated by the bishop of Comacchio Monsignor Cristoforo Lugaresi, on 2 January 1748 and consecrated to the B. Vergine del Buon Consiglio and to San Giuseppe and erected as a parish in 1827
HISTORY
The toponym of this parish is connected with its owner, the groom of the Madonna, St. Joseph. This is not his primitive name, which was «Bosco Eliceo»: in fact this center, until around the middle of the 1600s, was immersed in the greenery of an ancient national forest of elci. Later the forest was completely eradicated and the land was divided into emphyteusis among the families of the well-off Comacchio families. However, it was called Fontana, since its territory was rich in fresh water sources, which were used for the nearby city of Comacchio, so that the nineteenth-century denomination of «S. Giuseppe alla Fontana ». In 1930 the area began to improve and in 1953 most of the land passed to the Ente Delta Padano. Thus the Parish registers a true transformation and consequently a beneficial economic and social development, to which the opening of the Via Romea and the creation of the Lidi Comacchiesi also contribute. Before the present parish church there was another one, smaller, but it was a simple oratory; every parish function was performed in the church of Vaccolino. Only in 1827 the community was elevated to a parish. The present church was built in 1747 and solemnly blessed on 2 January 1748 by the bishop of Comacchio Msgr. Cristoforo Lugaresi. It is dedicated to the Blessed Virgin of Buon Consiglio and to S. Giuseppe. In 1905 it was enlarged and raised, while in the following years restoration and interior embellishment works were carried out and the external façade was covered with travertine marble. The church of S. Antonio at the Lido Pomposa-Scacchi depends on the parish of St. Joseph in Bosco Eliceo.
