Just to clarify... this is a small, simple church in a relatively isolated spot. The 'attraction' here is spirituality. Another 'attraction' is its link to the medieval assassination of St Thomas Becket, and the mystery regarding what happened to his remains following the dissolution of the monasteries during the reign of Henry VIII. There is a reliquary housing a number of relics of different saints to the rear of the altar.

It is one of the most well-known and popular places of worship of the Piceno hinterland monster. The Franciscan friars offer their service with devout fervor, and it is also a place where on Sunday afternoon at 5.00 pm a real Holy Mass can be heard. The church of St. Thomas of Canterbury is also very frequented by people from neighboring countries and also by pilgrims from neighboring Abbruzzo as devotees of the Saint.
