The church has ancient origins, perhaps earlier than the 12th century. It has a unique T-shaped plan, a single nave with cross ceilings at the ends and a barrel vault in the center. In a chapel on the left, in what used to be the bell tower room, there is the fresco of the Madonna del Latte, object of great veneration over the centuries, as evidenced by the numerous votive offerings still on display. In 1984, on the occasion of the visit of Pope John Paul II to Fano, two crowns were added to the Madonna and Child. The church has other pictorial works of some importance: on the right wall a fresco of the Madonna enthroned flanked by S. Rocco on the right wall and in the background, on the right wall of the presbytery, another fresco representing the Last Supper.

The sanctuary of St. Mary of the bridge over metauro is just a few meters from the river. The Romanesque façade, stone. The interior with a single nave, a longitudinal plan with a small adjoining body, in Romanic style. The characteristics that make it interesting this sanctuary are: - the fresco of the Madonna and Child (historical image); - the fresco of the Last Supper. Free admission.

For the abode of God the stars should be like the vault of the sky

The Sanctuary of the Madonna del Ponte. The church has ancient origins, perhaps before the 12th century. A visit to this wonderful Church is definitely recommended. Then relax in the wonderful park near them.

The Sanctuary of the Madonna del Ponte (or S. Maria del Ponte) is located on the left bank of the Metauro river, on the side of the current Adriatic state road, 3 km from Fano and near the mouth. The church has ancient origins, perhaps prior to the XII century. Certainly the first important moments were experienced in the first half of the fourteenth century, when the Franciscan tertiary Beato Francesco da Montegranaro, also known as Beato Cecco da Pesaro, settled in this small convent with hospital. The place, right at the mouth of the Metauro, is linked to the legend of the killing in 1215 of a giant snake, or dragon, by San Francesco himself. It is there that Blessed Cecco places the fresco image of the Madonna of Humility or of Milk, in a first nucleus of the church which was then to be a chapel open to the road to allow travelers to view the Madonna. The church has an aspect that comes from the restorations that affected it in 1926, when it became a parish church, and in 1930, after the earthquake. It has a singular T-plan, a single nave with cross ceilings at the ends and a barrel vault in the center. In a chapel on the left, in what was the room of the bell tower, there is the fresco of the Madonna del Latte, object of great veneration over the centuries, as evidenced by the numerous ex votos still on display. In 1984, on the occasion of the visit of Pope John Paul II to Fano, two crowns were added to the Madonna and Child. Before 1926 instead of this chapel there was a large arch (now buffered) closed by a gate, to allow the vision of the Madonna from the outside. On the opposite side, on the right wall, there is a stone structure built in 1597 to house a reliquary tabernacle and below the fresco of the Madonna, then transferred in 1926 to the present chapel. Currently there is the baptismal font. The church has other pictorial works of some importance: on the right wall there is a fresco by the Perugia school, of the Madonna enthroned flanked by S. Rocco and in the background, on the right wall of the presbytery, another fresco representing the Last Supper. On the main altar was originally exposed the beautiful polyptych made in the first half of the 1400s by two Venetian masters and now preserved in the Pinacoteca civica di Fano. The polyptych is attributed to Gianbono and the so-called master of Roncaiette, in two completely distinct registers. In its place there is now a splendid wooden crucifix from 1710 (1). The current crenellated tower is the result of the reconstruction of the bell tower, which collapsed following the earthquake of 1930. Before that it was even a watchtower, built in 1486 to counter the incursions of the Turks.
