Abbazia Santa Maria - Montepiano

I’ve been staying in this abbey for almost 6 summers and 2 Christmases while I was with the religious community. The place is very memorable for me. The old feeling of a 11th century monastery really creeps in. It was not t the structure that I love the most though but it was the people I stayed with while living here. I really missed the place!

Medieval abbey, surrounded by the Apennine mountains, admiring the aesthetics of its construction and the internal frescoes, one is entranced by the atmosphere that surrounds it. You feel transported to a unique magical world.

The magic of the early Middle Ages in a parish church in perfect Romanesque style. Noteworthy are the frescoes and the lunette in high relief.
