E-bike tour - A day in the Carrara marble quarries.
Absolutely stunning views which could be fully appreciated from the e-bike. Umberto is a fun guy to spend the day with and we enjoyed his company. We learnt a lot about Carrara, Colonnata and the marble quarries. We tasted the typical lardo di Colonnata and had a drink all together. E-bikes are perfect to vividly experience the marble quarries and we would definitely recommend this tour! You can adjust the level of the electric assistance which makes the tour suitable for everyone.
A wonderful private 3 hour boat tour
Comfortable and informative

Our family had a wonderful trip touring the Cinque Terre, Santa Margherita Ligure and the Portofino Peninsula in April. My husband and I were traveling with two of our grown children to Santa Margherita Ligure and we found that Lunaetours had many different kinds of full day and half day trips to the Cinque Terre and surrounding area. Umberto was instrumental in organizing three days of tours to each area with the help of local English speaking guides and an English speaking driver, Cristian. I told Umberto that we are an active family and were looking forward to hiking around the beautiful scenic areas of Cinque Terre and the Portofino peninsula. After listening carefully to our timeframe and the things we'd like to see, he came up with the perfect itinerary that would allow us to have a rigorous hike with a very knowledgeable guide, Guido, along the Cinque Terre, up into the hills between Corniglia and Manarola at a good pace, but still allowing us to stop and enjoy a delightful lunch and wine along the way. Guido led us down into Manarola where we caught a boat that leisurely motored all along the spectacular coastline and finally to Monterosso where we dined overlooking the Mediterranean. It was a very full day trip and worth every beautiful second! Guido gave us so much historic information about the region, the plants, the vineyards, the towns, etc. and we left him feeling that we had really experienced the Cinque Terre fully. We didn't have to worry about what trails to hike, where to eat, where to catch the train or where to pick up our boat tickets. Guido took care of all of those details so we could simply follow him, drink in our surroundings and relax and be amazed at the beauty of the scenery around us.
One of the days, Cristian, our very professional, delightful and enthusiastic driver met us at our hotel, The Grand Hotel Miramare, in Santa Margherita Ligure, and took us for a half day tour of the coastal towns on the other side of the the Portofino peninsula. He drove us up into the hills behind our hotel where he stopped for us in various locations for photos of the spectacular views. He then took us to the scenic towns of Camogli, Chiavari and then Rapallo. Cristian gave us much history of the areas we visited, stopping the car along the way and showing us different aspects of the towns we were approaching. We were able to investigate the towns on our own for an hour or so each, stop into shops along the way, pick up some irresistible focaccia and sfogliatelle and marvel at the ornate basilicas in each town. Breathtaking! Cristian made sure we had the opportunity to take in the best areas of each town, describing what to look for and answering our many questions. He was always very punctual and made sure we had enough time to enjoy and experience the vibe of the towns we visited.
The final day of our tour started again at our hotel where we met Boris our guide who took us on our next hike into some of those hills behind our hotel. We trekked upward again listening to his description of the towns we hiked through, and the history of the gorgeous, lush and hilly landscape, right down to the geology of the region. Really fascinating! We also toured the very famous town of Portofino with a gelato in hand which was a perfect finish to another full day of reveling in the Italian landscape, history and people.
We can't rave enough about Lunaetours and the spectacular trip we had with the guidance of Umberto and all the wonderful guides who showed us this extraordinary part of Italy. We wouldn't have been able to have such a stress-free, completely relaxing journey to this region of Italy without their expertise. I can actually say that there wasn't a single negative aspect to our trip. How often can anyone say that about traveling and touring anywhere?! It will be a trip we will never forget and we will call on Lunaetours again for our next trip to Italy which can't be soon enough!
We started with a group of about 50 people. The day was very interesting. First visit to Sarzana, a really beautiful, welcoming and clean town. Everyone liked it. Then visit to the quarries. Unfortunately, for reasons of bus length, we did not enter the museum quarry but visited the beautiful city of Carrara and saw the great white walls of the mountains from a fantastic lookout. Everything was very beautiful and interesting especially thanks to our guide, Umberto, very prepared, never boring in explanations and very professional. All fifty we did not miss a single word of his explanations. Thanks Umberto, see you next time !!!!!
