Sant′Antonio di Padova

The church of the hamlet of Sasso is located near the municipal road and near the historic center. The church is of modest dimensions, with a rectangular plan with a single nave. The small presbytery is bordered by a brick arch. Above the coppi roof there is a small belfry straddling the ridge. Externally the wall parameters are not plastered. From a structural point of view, the church of S. Antonio is extremely simple as the vertical structures are made of stone with modest openings. Historical News XX (whole building well) We do not know precisely the date of construction of the church, but according to tradition was built around a majesty in the first half of the last century, as a meeting place for the inhabitants of Sasso prayer. XXI (whole seismic renovation and improvement well) After the seismic events of 1997, the church undergoes restoration work that mainly involves vertical bearing structures and a review of the roofs. The belfry is anchored to the structure. Liturgical adjustment altar - structural intervention (2000-2010) A small altar was donated by the Alpine troops of Tarcento, Udine, during the post-earthquake refurbishment works 1997. It is affixed to the altar, built of masonry and a travertine base, with sculpture (part of the church of Sant'Antonio Abate, Sammardenchia di Tarcento) in memory of the earthquake in Friuli Venezia Giulia in 1976.
