The church of the village of Giove dedicated to St. Joseph is located within the historic core in the main square close to residential buildings. From the configuration of the roof it would seem that the small church once turned out to be independent of the rest of the built-up area despite being inside the built-up area. Planimetrically it is of limited size and has a single nave layout with remarkable rehash operations that have led to a significant transformation in stylistic and decorative features. From a structural point of view the church of S. Giuseppe is extremely simple, with vertical structures made of stone with modest openings. The roof is made with a hut typology and supporting structure in latero cement with exposed wooden beams on which the small tables rest. The beams of the roofing layers rest on a ridge beam also in sight. Wooden truss. The roof covering in tiles. Also in terms of coverage, the small belfry built in recent times with a load-bearing brick structure is placed on it. From a door located at the altar level, you enter a room used as a sacristy which is part of the building complex adjacent to the church. Plant The church has a rectangular plan with a single nave. Covers The roof is a hut, made with a wooden framework with trusses and a flat roof. Roof tiles in tiles. Structural installation Building built with load-bearing stone masonry, pitched roof. Floors and floors The floors of the liturgical hall and of the presbytery consist of square terracotta tiles Historical News XVII (whole building well) There is no precise historical information regarding the construction of the church. Historiography based on architectural features assigns the building to the seventeenth century. In particular, the building adjacent to the church bears a date engraved on stone: 1652. XXI (whole seismic renovation and improvement well) The latest interventions affect the church in a widespread manner, also from the point of view of restoration and structural consolidation and seismic improvement. Interventions carried out after the 1997 earthquakes. Liturgical adjustment altar - structural intervention (1970-80) The only intervention of liturgical adaptation that affected the church was carried out during the 1970s and included the advancement of the altar, built with marble columns and a stone top, towards the assembly of the faithful. Furthermore, the floor of the presbytery area was raised by a step.
