Olivacci - Oratorio di San Matteo

The small church of San Matteo is located in the small village of Olivacci and dates back to 21 September 1704 and was built at the behest of Matteo de Taruffi di Boschi who consecrated it dedicating it to San Matteo and proclaiming it patron saint of Olivacci of the village and of the nearby villages. A point of reference for families who saw two world wars in this mountain of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines. the church has always represented the centrality of the village, being a place of prayer. The feast of St. Matthew was one of the biggest mountain festivals and people came on foot for the mule tracks and the paths to spend a day of celebration of faith. the small church of Olivacci, is followed by the parish priest Don Michele Veronesi and is part of the parish of Molino del Pallone (territory of the municipality of Granaglione), after having been until 1980, under the jurisdiction of the church of Biagioni, also absorbed by Molino of the Balloon.
