Chiesa di Modino

The Oratory Built in 1665 by the chancellor Cristoforo Bartolai, and the detection of remains of an ancient wall in the middle of the church has legitimately induced the original location on a previous smaller building was entirely redone in the second half of the Nineteenth century (1859-1863). On the back a beautiful square bell tower emerges from the roof, again in cut stone, with a bell cell detached from the shaft by a protruding strip. The interior of the church, with a rectangular plan, is concluded by a rectangular apse covered with a cross vault. The churchyard, like the church, overlooks the river and is supported by a large counter-earth wall with a suitable parapet wall and pierced by a large round arch which partly empties the filling below.
