The village is located 900 meters away. high, within the Regional Park of the Modena Apennines, in the Cimone area. The crowning glory of Montecreto is the Parco dei Castagni, without doubt a unique forest heritage. Here centuries-old chestnut trees, planted at the time of Matilde di Canossa, create an environment of great serenity and peace, to the point of being counted as one of the most beautiful and evocative green spaces of the Apennines. It is a summer resort, for its sweet and luxuriant nature, and winter thanks to the snow sports practicable in the ski resort of Mount Cimone.
