An excellent memory of this place ... Over 30 years ago, I started right here, my first experiences as an assistant in the parish fields of Concordia sulla Secchia (MO) with the parish priest Don Franco Tonini. The boys were housed in the adjacent rectory, with an internal connection to the church. In this sacred place there were meetings and religious celebrations. The church is normally closed and only accessible during religious services as there is another church in the center of the village, further down. The church, in fact, is located at the highest point of the village of Montecreto and can be reached via a fast road, paved in stone, which several times I have traveled a mythical van of the Wolfaghen !! From the church and the plateau immediately below, you can enjoy an excellent view and is also located the municipal cemetery. Halfway up the road connecting the village center with the church, there is another church that is part of a nunnery that, at least once, also ran a kindergarten right in front of the convent itself.

The Parish Church of St. John the Baptist is located on the "podium" of the fortress, was renovated in the seventeenth century by concealing an older building; inside are visible many works of art like the lions that held the piers of the fortress portal (XIV °), the baptismal font from the Tuscan school (XVI °), the arch and the fresco destroyed Oratorio di San Rocco (XVI °), the pulpit in the Tuscan school sandstone (XVI °), the medieval crucifix by the Tuscan school (XIV-XV ° °) and some interesting altarpieces of which features a picture of Ascanio Magnanini, Fananese painter of the sixteenth century.
