Was looking to horse riding Trial near Florence, but most places I enquired were more interested in me taking cooking and wine tasting classes, along with just a hour of horse riding where they quoted me a bomb. Then I came across this in viator of full day horse riding almost in middle of jungle at very reasonable price. Jasmine was my guide, got a amazing sure footed horse with great temperament Rode around 6 hours. In jungle, grass lands, Near abandoned houses in forest, all the way near old town. Mix of walk, trot, canter and galloping. Easily one of the best horse riding experience I had. They even got a lunch box and water packed for full day ride. Jasmine was very friendly guide and she loved her horses. Thanks to her for making riding wonderful. They are closed in winter as they are linked to hotel which also closes down. I am surely coming back next time i am in Italy.

I have been to the Rifugio Prategiano several times and each time I return with great pleasure. It is a hotel set among green wooded hills, in a beautiful place in the Tuscan Maremma. It is equipped with riding stables that practice English riding: every day offers different routes direct to locations in the surrounding area. The only feature I have found here is the possibility for riders and companions to have lunch together with the tasty dishes of the hotel kitchen in a picnic halfway through the path: thanks to the excellent organization you can share the day in pleasant company immersed in enchanting scenarios. The owners are very friendly and there is a beautiful atmosphere among the participants on horseback rides. For example, I was alone but I managed to fit into the group. Horses are reliable, easy to handle and allow you to fully enjoy the wonderful landscape in which you dive. I recommend visiting the abbey of San Galgano, not far away, which can also be reached by horse. Another route is to the castle of Fosini, which offers a breathtaking view. I was also, during the October period, a really fantastic three-day trek that I recommend, arriving at the famous Cala Violina beach: galloping on the seashore is an experience that those who love horses cannot miss!

I also wanted to recommend the handling of the Hotel Prategiano because it is a magnificent and unexpected opportunity. They offer riding lessons combined with horse riding. We were very satisfied because the experience gave us wonderful emotions. During the walk we had a fantastic view of the Tuscan Maremma coast. They have very sweet and good Maremma horses. We are beginners but hopefully the next time we will also gallop along the Merse valley. Our dream is to get to San Galgano on a horse, like the ancient knights of the Middle Ages.

This beautiful Rifugio Prategiano is set in Tuscany and its Maremma area. This is a cozy hotel with a family atmosphere, located about 500m from the ancient village of Montieri. The Rifugio Prategiano also has a riding stable that offers horseback riding and lessons. We enjoyed all day rides around Maremma Tuscany, which led through forests, meadows, valleys, medieval villages or mountain peaks with a magnificent view of tens of kilometers. All rides were led by our experienced, sympathetic and even Czech guide Kristyna. She knew her 15 four-legged partners, mostly the Maremma race, as her shoes and also the routes she used to guide us. In the middle of the road we stopped at a place that was always something interesting - near old farm houses, by the river or a place overlooking the sea. We had a picnic lunch, full of delicious Tuscan specialties and wine! Getting to know Tuscany from a horse's nail was just an unforgettable experience! For beginners or advanced riders there are also organized riding lessons, one-hour or two-hour rides.

In April 2019 I made a short trip to Tuscany (Toscana) and was able to spend a wonderful riding holiday in the family-run Hotel Rifugio Prategiano with many great experiences. For a long time I had the plan again to climb in the saddle and go horseback riding, therefore riding holidays appeared in a fantastic landscape and far away from the noise of the cities, perfect. After searching the internet for a long time and finally finding the Hotel Rifugio Prategiano, my hopes were very high that I finally found the right place. The pictures of the beautiful Maremma horses and the riding stable gave me high expectations, which were exceeded in the end. Apart from the beautiful location, the riding stable offers a lot of fun and variety for all ages: from riding lessons and smaller rides to half-day or even full-day rides, which can be accompanied by a picnic, everything is possible here. Experienced guides take the guests on top trained horses to the most extraordinary places and always make sure that beginners and advanced ones get their money's worth. The well-being of the horses enjoys as much priority as that of the guests, so that one can get into the saddle with a good feeling and indulge in the beauty of the moment! To anyone who feels attached to nature and has a love for horses and riding, I can only recommend that you come to this place and let yourself be carried away by its magic. It is worth it! :-)
