Nice nice. What else to say about a great place. Part of a fantastic country. Not really well maintained, and still fantastic and full of charm.
Sofia Perni (10/12/2019)
Very historic but poorly maintained
Caterina Cortesi (06/24/2019)
Very beautiful church inserted in a very beautiful context-context. Very nice country of Collescipoli
Luca Mariotti (03/15/2019)
In a village perhaps too forgotten we have a beauty that must necessarily be visited if it happens in the area

Splendid church of Romanesque origin, dedicated to San Nicolò patron of Collescipoli -fraction of Terni- where, according to tradition, the inhabitants saw him riding his horse, in the act of protecting them from the barbarian hordes around 569 AD; it is therefore represented in the coat of arms of the municipality. The Collegiate Church has a façade preceded by a characteristic brick portico, with five round arches, which gives directly onto the steep "Corso dei Garibaldini" street. Under the portico, the three entrance portals to the building overlook; the lunette above the fifteenth-century main portal contains a valuable fresco depicting San Niccolò among the angels. Note the access portal to the rectory, always placed under the portico to the left of the facade, embellished with 16th century jambs and architrave, executed in an elegant "candelabra" bas-relief ... that is, decorated with phytomorphic and fantastic elements, often in allegorical key or in any case of floral and sinuous imprint echoing the decorations of the stem of the candelabra. The church has been, over the centuries, restored and remodeled several times while maintaining intact the ancient plan with three naves, separated and supported by octagonal brick pillars (as well as those of the portico on the facade). Outside, the mighty seventeenth-century bell tower is located at the west corner of the apse on Via Villa Glori. Curiosity: inside the church there is a precious processional cross in gilded silver and polychrome enamels of the Umbrian School of the sixteenth century, as well as a rare ecru linen tablecloth, from the first twenty years of the 1600s, with historiated and embroidered biblical scenes of the Creation and life of Jesus. For art lovers, a visit to this little-known architectural gem is absolutely recommended!
