Sanctuary named after: Our Lady of Grace, Black Madonna of the Three Miracles or Madonna del Pontin. It was built to allow the display and adoration of a miraculous image, painted on wood, which depicts a black Madonna with the baby Jesus in her arms. The image was transported to Sori by the commander Gerolamo Stagno in 1509. The commander's daughter, deaf and dumb from birth, purchased the use of speech and hearing while praying devotedly before them. Three miracles, remembered in a popular ballad, concern the times when the image returned to the city after ending up at sea. The first time when it arrived from the east, the second time when it was stolen by the Turks in 1584 and the pirates could not set sail until after getting rid of the image, the third time in 1944 during the aerial bombing of the Second World War it ended up at sea and was found 11 years later in 1955.
