A few days ago Iginio Massari's pastry shop opened in Verona and I wanted to taste the famous Maritozzo which I had heard and read about on several occasions. A friend and I went upstairs, which is sober, with ivory walls and pastel-colored armchairs. I took the last available Maritozzo, which arrived in a short time together with the coffee. What can I say? That the presentation was perfect and the very fresh, well-leavened Maritozzo had a taste of fresh cream, perfectly whipped, which reminded me of forgotten flavors. The custard inside was as good as the rest. The experience was excellent and the staff very professional and kind. After a while, a kind waitress brought us 2 macarons to try, one with rose and one with apricot. I tasted the rose one, very fresh and delicious. In the end, we were asked if we liked the taste and the answer was obviously positive. Before I went I read enthusiastic reviews and other very negative ones. For me the experience was very positive and I will definitely return to try other desserts

I'm sorry but from such an important name and for the price you pay much more is expected, personally I recommend to train the staff better or at least at the beginning take more trained people ..... a lot of confusion at the entrance , the poor girl at the cashier has to do everything from stopping people, making them pay and making them sit upstairs to consume ..... As soon as we entered we asked if we could have breakfast, so they made us wait at the entrance near the cashier for 5 minutes. Once you go up the stairs (because it is eaten sitting on the first floor) to finally get a capuccino and a sweet so renowned by the master Massari, the dining room staff made us choose between 4 free tables. We chose one for 3/4 people even though there were 2 of us, and they said take a seat; after 5 min the waiter invited us to get up to sit on a table for 2 .... we a little surprised we agreed. After two minutes we realized that 2 people were seated at the same table ... but how? you told us that we could not sit there because it was a table for 3/4 people and you made us get up even though there were 3 free tables ..... boh ..... after 15min our order finally arrived , first the brioche and a sweet and after another 5 minutes the capuccini arrived ...... I sincerely hope that over time they will solve these flaws because a place of "Iginio Massari" cannot have a quality below average ..... there is one thing to say though: the name Iginio Massari is everywhere, from the cups to the napkins, to the saucers to the decorations on the walls ......

The staff is really nice. Excellent single portions. But there are multiple problems: -the maitre d was not wearing the mask correctly, but under the nose. Unacceptable in this period. -disorganization: at the opening there was already chaos, the staff could not extricate themselves from the customers. -lack of baked goods: all types of brioches should be available upon opening. I wanted to try the pain au Chocolat and the Maritozzo but nothing. Maritozzo from what I have been told they do it later and it fits, but the pain au Chocolat was really "late". -also the bank of mignons was missing almost everything at the opening. Very strange to see in a pastry shop. - time indicated both in the press conference and on Google: 7.30-20 every day. Too bad it opens at 8.30 on Sundays! To update! In the end we took two good brioches with jam: browse well and good jam but there are much better ones in Verona and its surroundings and at much lower prices. These cost € 1.80 each. I eat breakfast more willingly elsewhere. We also took two single portions € 7 each (approximately, they are by weight). Both phenomenal, nothing to say about this and therefore in my opinion they are worth the price. Too bad for all the problems listed above.
