MEC | Museo Emozionale di Craco, presso il Convento di San Pietro

Nearly 5 stars but nobody about to sell us tickets, no real expansion of where we go etc so a bit disappointing

Visit Craco, and don't skip MEC museum in the old Convent of St Peter. Art exhibits, plus ideal view of the old city from the roof and excellent guide's explanation of graphics charting the geology, growth, and destruction of Craco. Also plans for the future of Craco.

Bad organization of visits! I called the Municipality of Craco (reference number indicated on the website) a month before the visit to ask for the possibility of booking. An employee, not a little bothered by the request for information, gives me the mobile number of this Mr. Vincenzo, who communicates that we simply have to show up and we organize for the visit (in August ?? ...). Arrived on site at 12.30 the ticket office informs that there was no more space for the last visit (which was not guided) before the break, and that the guided tours would resume at 16 to avoid the hottest hours. If you want to promote your ghost country, first of all, reception and promotion must be improved with correct information and organization.
