Istrana Air Base

Unfortunately I find myself living in line with the crow flies from the Istrana airport even though I live in Treviso. Airplanes, which until recently did not exist, now pass at low altitude 4 to 6 times a day causing considerable noise pollution. I do not understand what is the reason for all this movement that never took place. It is very annoying

In the week of August 15th you look like children playing who makes the most noise with the new muffler on the scooter. Airplanes and helicopters over inhabited centers and in the surrounding valleys, if you want to take a black forest tour with tracked vehicles, go ahead.

I have been there on several occasions thanks to the numerous events that are organized. Place amazing and admirable.

I was there on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the AMX in conjunction with the 80th anniversary of the 51 ° Stormo. A really interesting sight, starting with the entrance to the airport. At 8.00 there was already an uninterrupted line of cars of people who had to enter. I didn't know this military airport was that big. Inside there is a "country" and all those people who attended, they said in the final conference, about 3000 people, had no problem parking. Controls were strict. They checked our Pass with one of our documents, the cars one by one from the trunk to the body and then with the metal detector and bag control, as in the airport. The organization lived up to the event, I was particularly struck by the continuous shuttle service from the East to the Central area. Maybe they could manage the refreshment area better, long queues to get a bottle of water and a sandwich. While the lunch, for those who had booked, was inside a Hangar, I saw many tables set, but not having booked, I can't tell you how it went. What struck me positively was the professionalism of ALL the soldiers I saw, from those who checked your documents at the entrance to those who gave you explanations at the various exhibition points. Their KINDNESS was incredible. Compliments. The day was very hot and we struggled a lot to take the photos (I could also take them with 360 ° without any problem). Especially when the TRICOLOR ARROWS arrived, because we didn't hear the speaker well and we couldn't figure out when it was the right moment to photograph their spectacular evolutions in the best way. However, I definitely want to go back, there will be other openings to the public and therefore I RECOMMEND all lovers of these events to keep informed and register online in time. Since the euro fighters, activity and noise have increased significantly. The local population actually benefits to a minimum part of the airport (taxes are paid equal), indeed there are abandoned aeronautical buildings scattered throughout the municipality.
