San Giorgio, Reggio Emilia

Brick facade with marble elements. Especially at the door. Interior is predominantly white and the dome area deserves to be seen.

The church is very beautiful, famous above all for the dome and the bell tower that rise over the whole city ... it is located in front of the historical library of Reggio Emilia. It is a Latin cross and in the facade is depicted St. George killing the dragon, the only flaw is that it is a little flattened in the street, so many people do not notice or consider it important, while instead it is a heritage for the city

Today, January 13th, 2012, in the afternoon, passing I saw that the church was open, I entered because I usually found it closed. I discovered that it is a church for the Ukrainian Orthodox. The decorations were those for their Christmas. The function was finished, I was able to be a tourist.

Open for everyone

A little "flattened" between the buildings in the center of Reggio Emilia, there is the Church of San Giorgio. The facade is remarkable, with San Giorgio hitting the dragon.
