Beautiful church, interesting frescoes in the Chapel of the Contrari of the fifteenth century

The church of San Maurelio rises in Sariano, isolated, with an East-West orientation, preceded by a large churchyard. The neoclassical façade is a hut, surmounted by a triangular pediment with a dented frame. Pyramidal pinnacles on pilasters rise to the ridge and sides of the rampant gables. The façade is closed at the corners by twin Doric pilasters, on high bases. Among the pilasters are inserted round niches that house the statues of San Maurelio and Santa Liberata. At the center opens the only portal, with molded cornice and surmounted by a circular pediment, interrupted. Above the portal there is a blind bezel. On the side fronts are the high volumes of a votive chapel on each side, with fronts. The lateral fronts are punctuated by pilasters, among which are round arches with round arches. In the side walls and in the presbytery, all-round mullioned windows open up. Basilica planimetric scheme, with a single nave, covered by a flat ceiling, below which runs a slightly outlined cornice molded. On the courtroom there are two round-headed votive chapels with a rounded plan, vaulted with barrel vaults. The presbytery, raised by two steps on the floor of the church, opens onto the nave with a round arch on mural pillars. With a rectangular plan, with a single span, it is covered by a cross vault.
