I know the artist and the pictorial path he has undertaken for some time. I think he found his own personal style that characterizes him and makes him unique in the Italian panorama. To understand his works one can follow the use of color, or his symbolic images, or the references to the great nineteenth-century landscape masters or to the most recent interpreters of metaphysical thought; my advice is to simply ask yourself if his works are beautiful. To say that something is beautiful - Schopenhauer asserted - means to express that it is the object of our aesthetic contemplation.

The painting of Giuseppe Varuzza makes me think of a sort of "Metaphysical Neonazarenism". "Metaphysical" because the intent of representing a reality beyond "reality" is evident. "Neonazarenism" because his painting seems to me placed at the service of an idealizing Christian content. His wise as sober art is an act of industrious devotion through which he proposes, with happy chromatic chromatic and representational suggestiveness, an ideal of religious existential simplicity. If, however, in the Nazarenes the allegorical intentionality, and the well-known grammaticality, weighed down the artistic inspiration, in the "Metaphysical Neonazarenism" of Giuseppe Varuzza exactly the opposite happens: the starting inspiration, the ideality at the base of the works, are exalted precisely in the inseparable fusion of allegorical-metaphysical figurativity with the joyful and celestial quality of the pictorial palette that is its own. I recently viewed some paintings by Maestro Giuseppe Varuzza and I was struck by their beauty.
