Wonderful excursion to the top of Monte Rosa. 30 minutes walk from Pignataro port of Lipari. The road, although not asphalted, is not difficult to do. Follow the signs for the church. Total silence and 100% nature. The view is beautiful and from on Lipari, volcano, Panarea and Stromboli. The church is closed but you can stop in the shade to rest. Bring a bottle of water especially for the outward journey. Returning is easier to do. We recommend that you go up no later than 8.30 am for too much chance in the following hours. Once the cross was illuminated at night by solar panels and visible from Lipari city but it seems that the panels were stolen. In any case, the cross and the church are pleasant to admire during the day from the top of the mountain

Old walls on the Monte Rosa. You could not go in there either. Outside not very well maintained. But what do you expect. Not many are lost here

Suggestive place with excellent panorama. The church would have a better impact if it was painted white with lime. The photovoltaic panels on the side damaged and in an apparent state of neglect clash.

The Church is only opened on rare occasions, but the place is worth a visit just for the view.
