At the edge of the town, on the mountain side, is the church of S.S. Rosary built between 1720 and 1750 by the Dominican friars. On the high altar in a pretty wooden chapel, there are the statues of the Madonna del Rosario and S. Domenico. The altar is covered with glass sheets painted in oil to imitate a precious marble. The ceiling is particularly beautiful, made up of oil painted tables with floral decorations. The bell tower ends with a white and blue colored majolica cusp. The plan of the bell tower (which is reached after having climbed 38 steps set into the perimeter walls) has 4 magnificent panoramic balconies. The imposing mosaic of the sculptor Nico Nicosia has recently been placed in the Church. Adjacent to the Church of the SS. Rosario there are the ruins of the church of the Madonna della Scala. Rebuilt in the 1500s when the Dominican convent was founded. From what can be obtained from the ruins is one of the oldest churches. It has only one entrance with a sandstone portal in which many allegorical figures are carved. The statue of the Madonna della Scala of exceptional beauty, made from a block of white marble; it was transferred to the right apse of the Mother Church at the beginning of the 20th century, followed by the collapse of the roof.
