The small church dedicated to the Madonna della Mercede stands at the foot of the Sperlinga castle. There are no certain documents regarding the construction of the church. From the constructive analysis we can hypothesize that its construction could date back to the fifth century. Inside it preserves a wooden crucifix of the sixteenth century. coming from the church of the Castle and two statues of the Madonna della Mercede co-patron of Sperlinga and true place of "cult" of the Sperlinghesi .. It is thought that it was the confreres of the homonymous brotherhood who wanted its construction. This church constitutes above all a harvest and intimate "sanctuary" dedicated to the Madonna della Mercede celebrated on the fourth Sunday of September.
