Monastero di San Francesco

Built in 1230, tradition tells that it was built on land donated to San Francesco by the monks of San Colombano, in exchange for his peacemaking intervention regarding a dispute between the monks and the bishop. Unfortunately, in 1802, the Napoleons severely damaged it and turned it into a warehouse. Today an important restoration project is underway.

From the outside you can see the signs of the time and the need for important maintenance interventions. A plaque on the outside reminds us of its past.

A shame The monastery also closed. Although almost all the photos are of the church, some are of the interior. Is abandoned. Maybe it's worth it to restore it.
