Sanctuary of Santa Maria in Monte Penice

What can I say ... the place is splendid and the view is spectacular. The road is narrow but easy to navigate, plenty of parking. Too bad that the church was closed despite having asked via email for reassurance on its opening (confirmed) and on the website they give the possibility to visit until the end of September. Very good and bad at the same time. Halved vote for unfulfilled commitment.

It is a Marian shrine that rises on the summit of Mount Penice, between Emilia Romagna and Lombardy, you can enjoy an excellent panorama between the Alps and the Apennines. On the square of the sanctuary there is the statue of the Redeemer, now under restoration, which blesses humanity. In summer, the bar in the clouds that welcomes pilgrims is also open, there is a large parking lot, an ideal place to meditate, pray, get closer to God.

Beautiful place at almost 1500 meters above sea level. The church is beautiful and the view is excellent. Today it was 18 degrees with a nice breeze. Easily accessible from the state road.

What a beautiful cool this morning. Easy and convenient to reach, from Bobbio and then from the square of the Penice Pass. 360 degree panorama!
