Main church of montecassiano is accessed from the arch adjacent to the palazzo dei priori with a staircase inside to be noted by mattia della robbia a glazed terracotta altar dedicated to the Madonna

It is the most important religious building in Montecassiano. The collegiate is located very close to the main square, wedged in the various historic buildings. Built in 1234 on a pre-existing temple, the large church has three naves with cross vaults and a special diamond-shaped floor. Interesting the entrance portal on the main facade completely covered with bronze tiles with bas-reliefs depicting scenes from the life of Jesus Christ and some saints. The most important piece is the beautiful altar in vitrified terracotta depicting the coronation of the Virgin among Saints, angels and cherubs, the work of Mattia della Robbia and his brother. There is also a fine altarpiece on the table by Giacomo da Recanati and the organ dating back to 1775.
