Piazzale Lozze

Although rather uncomfortable, it is a well-known point for hikers because it is a very large parking lot from where the paths that give access primarily to the Caldiera-Ortigara area start. From here you can also organize tours to Campigoletti-Monte Chiesa-Monte Forno or, more challenging, to Cima XII. You go up from Campomulo but to get there there are 6-7 km of bumpy road (2020), full of holes, but still passable even without an off-road vehicle as long as you go slowly.

Piazzale Lozze looks like a large open space to park cars and a starting point for excursions to Monte Ortigara, (Calvario degli Alpini). Of course the road to get to Piazzale Lozze is like a white hole adventure, I never understood why being places of history much named and visited.

Piazzale Lozze is the starting point for going to Mount Ortigara. To reach it you have to drive for 6-7 km on an unpaved road full of holes, it takes about half an hour. If you decide to go by car to this square you need to arm yourself with a lot of patience.

I spent a wonderful day in a lovely place

And a very large and well-kept square with tables with chairs and two grilling stations and then leave for Monte Ortigara
