Chiesa San Udalrico

Beautiful little church in a panoramic and frescoed position by the Baschenis

The church of Sant'Udalrico stands in an isolated position at the eastern end of the hamlet of Corte Inferiore, surrounded by a cemetery and bounded by a wall. The documentary data lead us to believe that the first nucleus of the building is prior to the fourteenth century. Adorned with frescoes by Giovanni and Battista Baschenis signed and dated in 1471, the building was enlarged and raised at the beginning of the sixteenth century. The single-nave interior is covered by cross-linked vaults with exposed stone ribs; the right wall is adorned by the frescoes of Baschenis, partially damaged by the sixteenth modifications. An ogival archway leads into the presbytery concluded by the polygonal apse
