San Vitale, Parma

Worth for the altar of the holy sacrament. This altar is a fantastic mix of relieves, half sculpture half relieve and full sculptures. The hanging angels on the altar ceiling are wonderful. Since it is not crowded at all, it is worth spending sometime appreciating all the details.

Very nice

The church of San Vitale is located in the center of Parma. The structure dates back to the 9th century. The facade is in Baroque style, with very warm colors. The interior has a single nave, with a Latin cross plan, in Baroque style with hints of neoclassicism. The characteristics that make this church unique are: - The vaulted ceiling of the side coffered chapels; - the part of the left transept, carved, with a unique mastery; - the dome; - paintings by nineteenth-century Parma artists. Free admission.

Beautifully painted church inside in gentle light colors

It was a perfect place to host the Jethro Tull concert on 20 December. I recommend the visit inside there are baroque stuccos and wonderful paintings.
