Chiesa Santi Bartolomeo and Alessandro

The church of San Bartolomeo is located in the historic center of Parma. The current structure dates back to the mid 1600s. The exterior is in classic style (restored in the 1700s). The interior has a single nave, with a longitudinal plan in neoclassical style. The features to note are: - marble altar from 1758; - all frescoed chapels. Free admission. Visit date: 12/27/19.

Very interesting church, both from a historical and devotional point of view, modified several times in its history over a thousand years, it was built by the will of Cunegonda, Lombard queen, wife of Bernardo, nephew of Charlemagne and King of Italy from 810 to 818 . The Church preserves the relics of Santa Sabina, as reported on the entrance portal, and is located in the central area, near Piazza Garibaldi and the Ghiaia, convenient to the train station.
