Campanile della chiesa di San Paolo

Located at the crossroads between the civic number 2 of Via Capo delle Volte and the civic number 60 of Corso porta Reno, it is a noble tower of the XII century, the only survivor of the thirty-two towers existing at the time. As explained by the plaque affixed right at number 60 in Corso Porta Reno it belonged to the ancient Ducal lineage of Leuti from Ravenna. In 1442 it was confiscated by the Marquis Leonello d'Este and donated with the adjoining houses to the Carmelite Friars of San Paolo who made it the bell tower of the homonymous church erected in the year 1575.Bella and high medieval structure embellished by some marble mullioned windows can be the opportunity for a walk in Via Capo delle Volte which I find particularly relaxing and rewarding.
