The food was some of the best in Italy. The chef did his best, and it was well worth the effort to get there. It is a hike into a medieval Village high up on a Mountain in the Hamlet of Pianazzola. The road is narrow, and with several switchbacks you arrive at the villiage, and then wind through the anchient streets down stone stairways to the restaurant. It is all well worth it, but reserve first to not be disappointed.

Extremly unfriendly. We wanted to sit at a free take for four at the edge of the terrasse to enjoy the splendid view. The waitress told us write harshly that that was a table for four, we could sit at an old wooden table, which was further away from the edge. when I asked whether there was a reservation for that table because there was no sign on it she asked us where we were two or four? Obviously we were just to say we were not allowed to see the day before. After that she went in and put a sign on it. After we had ordered we started playing cards while waiting like we always do. The owner came outside and stayed on thestairway didn't even approached our table and told us that we were not supposed to to play cards because he didn't have a license for it. He didn't even approached our table and the tone was also do harsh. After that we cancelled our order, finished our beverages and left. The appetizer was fine and I guess the food would have been to, but unfortunately he doesn't seem to know, who's the customer...

Fantastic service, fantastic views, and fantastic food. This restaurant is really great. Perfect for grabbing a beer and looking over the valley with a view of Chiavenna below. Their bresaola is great, just like everywhere in the region. I can wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone, and the pilgrimmage up the mountain is worth it for this alone. Note: English menu unavailable at time of writing, but that will be a problem for almost no one. I don't speak Italian and I was able to read it easily enough. Some of the staff also speak English if you need a hand.

The village is truly enchanting. Park along the road and then walk into the village. It is not very suitable with strollers, but doable. The restaurant is in an excellent location in the old school building. We had lunch outside on the terrace on October 31st in the sun (I was in a tank top). The menu is rich, the prices right, the staff discreet and punctual. Max is a chef who cares about his guests. I ate an amazing lamb. The polenta taragna and the gnocchi from Val Chiavenna are also highly recommended. And if it is true that the cleanliness of a room is judged by the condition of the toilet, here you are on the safe side. I really enjoyed the changing table which included diapers, wipes and talcum powder!

View, quality, moderate prices, good wines. The menu and the choice are relatively limited, but when the quality is excellent, there are no complaints. Brave and a little crazy to have opened a restaurant here, but the result is truly splendid. The cook is good, the girl serving at the tables is good, she knows the details of each dish. An enchanting place in a magical country, where getting lost is beautiful.
