The church was located along the Via Francigena near the Porta Ferrea and was probably built in the second half of the 11th century with a Romanesque style with sober and elegant lines. The simple and charming building in squared travertine stones has a single nave. Inside, a small apse crowned with arches and shelves, decorated with motifs of animal heads. The most significant part is the portal on the Via Francigena which reveals numerous similarities with that of the abbey of Sant'Antimo.
