A JUMP INTO THE PAST. OTIUM In the last week of vacation, I finally went to visit my dear friend Nicoletta Innocenti, in San Quirico d'Orcia. I was especially curious to visit his latest creation, Otium. What is Otium, it's a blast from the past, you enter and find yourself thrown back 30, 40, 50 years and even beyond. Porcelain coffee sets, antique colored glass candle holders, lace dresses, vintage paintings and prints, vintage bicycles, salt and pepper pots that our mothers used to put on the table, antique books but not only, there is the lady who comes in and "Nicoletta I'll bring you some books, I don't want to throw them away", there is the Child who looks out, 5 years old, with a book in his hand and a radio in the other and chooses a Mickey Mouse from the 1950s and you can't help but be moved. There are antique earrings and necklaces, frames like our grandmothers used to have. I could go on for a long time, in a nutshell it is a dip in the past, a den of memories, it deserves a visit, with the respect we owe to our personal past, the same respect we owe to Otium. It could be the plot for a film, director and screenwriter Nicoletta Innocenti, scenography San Quirico d'Orcia, protagonists, all those who have a heart. F. C.
