Mr. Teachers, I want to take advantage of this tool to make, publicly, some considerations on my personal story and give, if possible, a contribution to the growth of the School "system". I state that mine is not meant to be a personal accusation against someone, nor is it a sword defense against my son. To involve third parties who should read this my say that the question is the second consecutive rejection obtained by my son at the 4th year of Liceo Scientifico. I repeat that I do not want to go into the merits of the negative evaluation given by the majority of teachers to my son. Probably and, perhaps, surely he did not show or demonstrate commitment in the study but the question I asked myself and what I do to everyone is: besides the Family, isn't it just the School that must be close to its children? Should not teachers also be accompanying students on their path to growth? Is it not up to the teachers to identify the maximum potential of each student and create the conditions for each of them to achieve the maximum result? When I talk about maximum results, I am very clear that we cannot all have the same learning ability, the same interests, the same will and therefore it is absolutely right that everyone has a different assessment, but when I talk about creating the conditions , I mean that alternative study paths should be identified for those children who have difficulties, little enthusiasm, slower in their "maturation" process. To help this "category" of children, in my opinion, means having a more direct contact with them, talking to them, planning a shared study path, giving them confidence, growing their self-esteem. This was the kind of help I asked the Teachers for my son. And I must say, unfortunately, that none of this has happened. I will be told that the School has no resources to organize remedial courses or who knows what other problems, but another question comes to my mind: what does the professional gratification of a Teacher come from if not from seeing your children approaching with enthusiasm for their teaching and to bring them all, and I mean everyone, to achieve "their" maximum result ?! There are so many guys who immediately understand that the School is a passage of Life that can give you many important notions for their human and professional education, and they spend a lot of time studying to learn the maximum .... and they should be questioned about the most notions details of each individual subject, to give them the opportunity to prove that they are worth 7,8,9,10 and to gratify them in that sense. But there are also so many young people who live this period only as a passage of Life, without too much enthusiasm, perhaps with personal problems, but they too should be put in a position to overcome this phase by evaluating them, perhaps, only on learning general notions and let them overcome this "difficult obstacle" with the minimum 6. But for them it is the maximum of what they could hope. In this matter I do not want to exempt myself from my responsibilities as a parent but I hope I have offered some ideas to reflect, each for his own role, on our behavior, for the benefit of all our children. claudio ranucci
Complete and functional high school that provides adequate preparation for students who attend it. I recommend it to all the guys from my city and neighboring countries.
