The Temple hall Great house is one of Jamaica's historical Treasures. People in the area says it was built between between 1698 and 1718. It was oncs owned by the British aristocracy. The property was named by its owner, Thomas Temple of Franckton in Warwickshire. It was owned at thereafter by Sir Nicholas Lawes (1652-1731), Governor of Jamaica (1718-1722). Jamaica and many others over the years. Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee history started there as plants obtained from Martinique – was first grown in Jamaica at Temple Hall in 1728 by Lawes. The property grew various crops over the years including Cane for sugar. A large aqueduct is there as a monument to this. In its latter years tobacco ans flowers were grown. The Temple Hall cigar brand is still known for excellence even though Tobacco is no longer grown there. Jose Marti Liberator of Cuba raised funds there for the Cuban revolution. from indentures workers who in the late 1800s There is still a postage stamp in Cuba commemorating this event. The Great house is being restored for use as a Bed and breakfast and meeting facilities. See it at JIREH ECO ADVENTURE PARK
